When I was a little girl, we would wait every night until my Dad got home from work before sitting down to dinner. This must remain a tradition in my family.
No cell phones, no TV (unless it was Monday night which was my Dad’s night for Monday night football – which I hated). Man, I would have loved DVR back then and shit even a cell phone- I would never have had to miss Laverne and Shirley or Threes Company again. But I digress, I remember my Pop always drinking Coors Light or some other beer like Killians, Bass or Negro Modelo out of a frosty mug.

I loved those mugs and I remember my Pop allowing me to take my first sip of beer out of one of them (it was Coors Light).

Now, some 20+ years later I am getting to share a Guinness out of one of those mugs with my Pop. There is something really special about moments like this once you have moved out, lived on your own, started your career and a family. It is the simple things that trigger memories and ultimately are the links in the chain to the deeply planted family values anchor.

Cheers Pop! I love you. Oh, and big thanks to my Mom for making the turkey meatloaf. I love you too :).
