Just three days ago we returned our ML450. Anyone who knows us knows how much we love our cars. Between my husband and I we have owned more than 15 cars since we began driving (we are not that old either). And we have certainly loved our cars materialistically and traded them in without thought and without little heartache. Until the ML came along.

Our hybrid Mercedes-Benz SUV meant more to us than any other vehicle has because we created so many memories in it. It took us safely across country from Phoenix to Sonoma for out wedding with a packed car of wedding necessities and two dogs. On our return trip, we ran over a bolt driving through LA causing us to halt our trip over night, find a pet-friendly hotel in Palm Springs and wait for the Mercedes dealership to open the next morning. A call to Mbrace and our run flat was patched and we were on our way again. Making it safely back home.

Our next big memory in this car came just a few months later when we would take our son for his first car ride and home for the first time since his birth. I sat in the backseat next to his huge carseat and little body staring at him the entire time.

Later we would travel to Encinitas for a family vacation and then back to LA for my husband’s interview at UCLA where he would eventually wind up attending.

It has taken my baby and family to Greer, AZ where I accidentally locked the keys in the car. I was able to use the Mbrace app to unlock the car (avoiding panic).

In its final days with us, it would take my dog and myself on a momentous milestone trip from Phoenix to LA where my family and I would be settling down in a permanent new place. On my way, after 12 hours of coordinating the movers and cleaning out our old home, I left at 7p to make the journey. Around midnight I became too tired and pulled of to take a nap. I woke up to a dead battery, nerves shot with panic and anxiety building. I had to call Mbrace once again to help me. In 30 minutes a man named Angel arrived to switch out the battery. I was back on the road and arrived safely.

Sure you could argue that if these things happened in any other brand of car I would feel the same. But, I disagree, mostly because it is my story and they didn’t happen in another brand of car. Our experience with Mercedes from purchase with Bill to all the Mbrace calls to lease return with Ben and follow up from Peggy in Finance have been what you would hope and expect from Mercedes…and they exceeded our expectations. We would have bought our ML except hybrids were only permitted to be leased and not for purchase. Unfortunately with our recent life changes financially we decided not to lease another Mercedes (one of the hardest decisions in our car buying careers ;)). We can’t wait to be part of Mercedes family once again and we are thankful for the quality, reliability and customer attention in both the product and people.
