I certainly have been lax about keeping G&G up to date. So much has happened in the last 60 days and it has only seemed like a week. Finally, tonight before I jump into bed I reminded that in just a few days we will celebrate Valentines Day.

Today, though, marks 38 years of marriage between my parents. I am so grateful to a) have my parents still be together b) that both of them still want to be together, even more so than they want to see their own children and c) that they are still alive!

Happy Anniversary mom and dad. Here is what I remember about Valentines Day growing up. I remember mom taking my sister and I to the grocery store to pick out the little notes we would hand out the next day. Sometimes we would even make chocolate chip cookies to bring to class. I remember picking out special notes for the boy I had a crush on or for the kids I wanted to become better friends with. That is so amazing that as young as I was I thought to do that. I wonder if Lil B will do the same.

Last year was Lil B’s first Valentines Day and Aunt Kirstin sent him five dollars. This has been documented in his college journal – let’s hope Aunt K sends him another five this year.

Although my husband and I won’t be celebrating this day of love on the day of love I’m hoping we find the time to do so – very soon. We need a date night. Wonder if he ever reads my blog…doubtful.

Anywho, no matter what your traditions or anti-thoughts are about his day, think of it as just a day to be grateful to be able to give love and to receive love. It doesn’t have to be anymore than that.
